At RUFC, the community is at the heart of who we are and that’s why we are proud to extend our reach to supporting the communities around us through #RUFCCommunityCares to give our RUFC community a chance to give back to others.
We are excited to share with you some special ways for our RUFC community to give back to our community through the following upcoming events.
This is just the start of what we hope are many opportunities for our RUFC community to give back. If you know of an organization that could use our support and ideally welcomes youth volunteers, please contact Kristin Koloniaris at

Bring joy to a child for the Holidays- Sponsor a child
The generosity and kindness of the RUFC community are truly shown through in our gift sponsorship for families of The Bridgeport Department of Children and Families (DCF). Through your generosity, we were able to provide gifts for 11 children, ranging in age from 10 months to 13 years old, as well as provide gift cards for groceries and cleaning supplies for a mom who was being reunited with her children. The holidays are a challenging time of year for many and it meant so much to the DCF caseworker that we were able to make the holidays a bit brighter for these children and families.
Thank you to all of the RUFC families who contributed.

Operation Gratitude- Donate Halloween Candy to our Troops
We are proud to support Operation Gratitude in donating Halloween candy to our troops. So gather all of that Halloween candy that you no longer want and bring it to practice during the week of 11/1 – 11/5. We’ll have donation boxes set up to collect the candy which we’ll send off for the troops to enjoy.
Nourish Bridgeport food Drive
Nourish Bridgeport is hoping to provide Thanksgiving meals to 400 families and we’re going to help them get there. We’ll be holding a food drive to collect 200 cans of cream of mushroom soup and 200 cans of gravy. We’ll have donation bins set up at practice the week of 11/1 – 11/5. Want to contribute but don’t have time to go to the store – we can also accept cash donations which we’ll use to purchase the items for you. Please give any cash donations to either Maria Cano or Kristin Koloniaris only.
Nourish Bridgeport Thanksgiving Meal Distribution
What an amazing day members of the RUFC Community had helping Nourish Bridgeportprepare and distribute Thanksgiving meals for over 400 families.
This is a great organization that was so appreciative of our support and especially loved having all of the kids there pitching in. So please look out for future volunteer events with Nourish Bridgeport.
Cleat and Soccer gear drive for players abroad- April 2021
Coach Rodrigo traveled to Colombia this past month. He had collected some used soccer gear from our community. Many RUFC families donated to this cause, which helped to give various children new shoes, cleats, shinguards, and clothes. Special thanks to all the Revolution families who contributed to this great cause and to Coach Rodrigo for organizing this great community service.

Light The Night Walk and Fundraising Event- October 2018
Light The Night is an evening walk and fundraising event supporting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's mission to find cures for blood cancers. It is our communities' night to bring light to the darkness of cancer by celebrating those who are fighting the disease and to honor those we have lost.
This year Light The Night for Fairfield County took place at the Sono Fieldhouse in Norwalk on Saturday, October 27th, 2018.
Revolution United FC joined Dr. Elke Cheung Dentistry to participate in The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Light The Night and help raise funds for this cause.
We walked in memory of Kyle Markes. The Markes family are dear friends. Leukemia took 11-year-old Kyle away from us on Christmas Eve of 2013 after a brave year-long battle. He was an amazing young man that was beloved by all. Kyle and his family have inspired us all with their strength, courage, and faith in God.

Soccer Clinic for an Orphanage in Colombia- August 2017
In August of 2017, while the Cano family was vacationing in Colombia, Coach Fabian and Coach Max spent an afternoon running a soccer clinic for all the boys at a local orphanage. The whole family spent the afternoon with these amazing boys of all ages and donated to their home a bag full of soccer balls. What a great experience to be able to give back.
Trip to Jamaica
Revolution United FC in April stormed Jamaica as part of a goodwill tour to Ocho Rios, Jamaica. Coach Floyd Neil took the Revolution United U14 and U17 teams to Ocho Rios Jamaica to play the local high school teams. The Revolution U14 and U17 teams played 5 games during the week-long trip along with playing the Resort Staff in a pickup game on the last full day in Jamaica. Along with the games the teams went to Dunn River Falls to see the natural beauty that Jamaica has to offer, shopping, dolphin experience, snorkeling, fishing, as well as a trip to Steer Town Academy were some of the other activities the teams along with their parents participated in.
Revolution United FC was awarded a certificate of appreciation for all of the donations they provided to the high schools. Revolution United FC U14 and U17 collected donations from companies, soccer clubs, parents, and more to donate soccer balls, uniforms, cleats, backpacks, socks, shin guards, and more to the teams Revolution played while in Jamaica.
